This talk introduces Lokomotive Kubernetes: an open source kubernetes distribution inspired by CoreOS Tectonic and built to run on Flatcar Container Linux, filling the gap between secure, cutting-edge and production-grade clusters.

This talk will introduce Lokomotive Kubernetes, an open source kubernetes distribution inspired by CoreOS Tectonic and built to run on Flatcar Container Linux.

The new kid in town runs a self-hosted control-plane, is designed with security in mind (using PSPs too, not GA on GKE yet!), has support for experimental kernel features using Flatcar Container Linux Edge channel and provides a solid base to run your production clusters as it is already handling hundreds of thousands requests per second of business-critical traffic.

This talk will give a technical overview of the distribution, the supported platforms and a demo on how to deploy it.
