While CoreOS Container Linux was extremely popular among the cloud native community, its updates manager (CoreUpdater) was always kept proprietary. In this talk, we share details of a new 100% Open Source project, called Nebraska, which implements the Google-originated Omaha protocol for updating Container Linux (and any other Omaha-powered applications), with a modern UI and UX.
Nebraska thus brings a drop-in replacement for the proprietary CoreUpdater service, ensuring not only the availability of this service for any Container Linux users, but also its future as a Open Source Software.
Here's a quick outline of the talk: * Motivation * Architecture / Implementation * Features * Use Cases / Examples * Demo
